Germany only criticises other countries when it comes to German interests if the resulting benefits and corresponding advantages can be expected sooner or later. In this case, of course, Germany does not mean the German citizens, but the current government. Represented by public officials and appropriate informants.

On closer inspection, it is now a question of who is criticised for what? Germany currently believes that it must impose internal political procedures on the Latin American country Venezuela and impose recommendations and demands without being asked to do so.

Due to the aggressive one-sided media coverage, I would like to briefly explain once again what Venezuela is all about? It’s about the country with the largest oil reserves in the world. It’s about a U.S. controlled change of power. It is about the recapture of the state-owned oil company PDVSA by corresponding interest groups.

Local media continue to manipulate interested citizens by informing them that the country’s problems were caused solely by the government of Nicolas Maduro and the tenure of his predecessor Hugo Chavez. That two socialist models of government have once again brought citizens into bitter poverty. That the country was ruled incompetently. That’s nicely put, half the truth. One could also write simply lied. Also here again called the facts.
The election of Hugo Chavez as president in December 1998 had a history: the foundation: an economic crisis that the country has been going through since 1983, which has deepened further and further due to irresponsibility, inefficiency and corruption, up to the extreme point that 80% of the population was in a state of poverty (1). The illiteracy rate was over ten percent. Hundreds of thousands had no access to medical care or to more than the most necessary education. (2)

It took time to eliminate these realities. In the years that followed, Chavez (who died in 2013) implemented numerous social programmes and nationalised the land, oil and banks of the country, which was marked by strong inequality. He did not make any new friends, especially in the USA. This was followed by sanctions against his successor Maduro. In addition, an elementary collapse in the price of oil in 2014. But the people still did not want to turn their backs completely. So the US side had to act more aggressively. Once again, it was a question of applying the vocabulary of humanity and democratic change misused in Iraq, Libya and Afghanistan. They searched and found Juan Guaidó.

On January 25th Juan Guaidó’s future coach was introduced on site. None other than US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo was literally „incredibly thrilled“ to welcome a „proven, principled and uncompromising foreign policy veteran to the team“. It’s about Elliott Abrams, who already did his mischief under Ronald Reagan, through George W. Bush to the most recent present. Our media lie when it serves certain interests. But what are they hiding in the current conflict? Venezuela’s foreign ministry announced in early February that the African Union would pledge its support to President Maduro.(8) The African Union is the most important association of all 55 African states. These countries have experience with colonial thinking and foreign rule.

Is it not therefore perhaps a coincidence that the following EU states, which are in charge of the matter, made Venezue-la internal political recommendations and, without further ado, denied President Maduro recognition of his presidency?

What do European leaders have to communicate to the Venezuelan people? Examples:

President Macron of France, quoting: „Venezuelans have the right to express their will freely and democratically,“ the man said, enveloped in the tear-gas mist of his dissatisfied citizens.

Jeremy Hunt, British Foreign Minister, quoted: „The people of Venezuela have suffered enough. It’s time for a fresh start,“ said the man from Brexit Country. (9)

For Germany, Foreign Minister Heiko Maas quotes: „In the course of this day it cannot be ruled out that there will be outcry on the streets,“ warned Maas after a conversation with Pompeo in Washington. „That’s why we all want to make a contribution to ensuring that we don’t see violence on the streets and harm people.“ Currently, the situation in Ve-nezuela is „certainly critical“, Maas said. „We all don’t want to contribute anything that could lead to the situation escalating further.“ (10)

Maas met Pompeo two days before the announcement of the designated Guaidó Coaches. The 23.01, the day on which the Tagesschau was titled in the evening, quote: A country against Maduro. Venezuela’s opposition today called for mass demonstrations against head of state Maduro. In the southern Venezuelan city of San Félix, residents set fire to a statue of the late President Hugo Chávez. (11)

A few days later, a US puppet is legitimised as interim president for the purpose of de-escalation, and government spokesman Seibert is still used to afterwards: „I just wanted to tell you that the situation in Venezuela naturally causes us great concern. The call of millions in Venezuela for democracy, for the possibility to determine the fate of their country in free and fair elections must no longer be ignored…(12)

Yes, in Germany the choice is free. People have the opportunity to freely determine their fate. So far so good, so bad. Nevertheless, we experience the ignorance of the powerful. The call for democracy also sounds through this rich country.

Does Mr Seibert have similar concerns about the situation in his country? Are there any problems with privatisations in this country, keyword private public partnership. Is there poverty, lack of education? In the current PISA results, Germany is still in 13th place. Bottlenecks in medical care, corruption and misappropriation of taxpayers‘ money?

In 2018, an OECD study reported: In Germany, income inequality and relative poverty have grown more strongly in recent years than the OECD average. Single parents and children above average, while pensioners are below average affected by relative poverty. Unemployment and a greater wage spread are the main causes of increased relative poverty and inequality – long-term poverty is comparatively low in Germany. (13)
Well, everything’s fine then. The streets also only full at the winter sales, or Carnival of Cultures.
