Note	Just (Jost) Oldekop, geb. 1597, studierte in Helmstedt, Jena, Heidelberg und Marburg Rechtswissenschaft, 1628 war er Dr. iur.utr., Rechtsanwalt und Sekretär im Rat der Stadt Hildesheim. Nachdem er im 30jährigen Kriege aus Hildesheim 1634 vertrieben war, lebte er in Osterode, dann in Braunschweig and 1644 als Assessor des Konsistoriums in Hannover, 1650 in Halberstadt als Syndikus der dortigen Stände, von 1660 an in Braunschweig, von wo er wegen einer Streitigkeit mit dem Magistrat vertrieben wurde, dann in Wolfenbüttel, wo er am 19.2.1667 starb. Verheiratet war er seit 1631 mit Elisabeth Roth, gest. 1652 in Halberstadt. Mit ihr hatte er 7 Söhne and 5 Töchter. Er kämpfte gegen die Inquisition.
