Insektor in Pforta gest. 23.06.1729 durch Sturz in seinem Weinberg Quelle: Sächsisches Pfarrerbuch Das 1128 in Schmölln gegründete Benediktinerstift wurde wenige Jahre später zum Zisterzienserkloster und urkundlich nach Porta, dem heutigen Schulpforta, verlegt. Dank der Wirtschafts- und Erwerbspolitik wurde es im Verlauf des 12. - 14. Jh. eines der reichsten und mächtigsten Klöster Mitteldeutschlands. Nach der Säkularisierung wurde 1544 daraus eine sächsische Landesschule, heute (2007) befindet sich darin ein Internatsgymnasium. Die Schule hatte berühmte Schüler u.a. Friedrich Nietzsche, Friedrich Gottlob Klopstock, Johann Gottlieb Fichte. |
